The School Readiness Council sponsors the "Get Caught Reading" program for preschoolers. It is part of a national literacy campaign to encourage reading with children.

During the month of May, members of the Council encourage children involved in their programs to take photos or draw pictures of themselves, family members, or friends that they have "caught reading."

These pictures and drawings are then posted at the participating agencies. Toward the end of the month, School Readiness Council representatives view the pictures with the children and distribute free books.
